Ghost Town Refuge
The competition organized by YAC in collaboration with Craco Ricerche S.r.l. addresses the ghost town of Craco, Italy in its state of ruin and abandonment. In bringing new life to the site, the town would see a sober intervention which allows for tourists to inhabit a restored Craco. The proposal named ‘Traces’ was selected for the first prize from a jury of architects, engineers and researchers. The jury included members such as; David Chipperfield (David Chipperfield Architects), Alberto Veiga (Barozzi Veiga), Ian Ritchie (Ian Ritchie Architects), João Luís Carrilho da Graça (Carrilha da Graça Arquitectos) and more.
